Pusing a small edge with a full wrap - Flop play
Bodog - PLO25 (4 handed)
Stacks: Hero $34.31, Villain $36.59 and a semi LAG, putting lots of money in close spots. Seems smart and fearless. Hero is in SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Preflop: Villain is UTG and calls $.25, Hero calls $.15, BB checks (I know I could have raised there, but I'm OOP vs an agress. opponent who can pay me off later) Flop: Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (pot is $.75) Hero bets $.75, BB calls $.75, UTG raises $1.50, BB folds, Hero raises $5.25, UTG raises $9, Hero raises $27 allin, UTG calls (final pot $69.62) OK this is a clear example of pusing a small edge. I have a full (17 outs) wrap, he's likely to have a set, the board has no draw except mine. (No FD). I am wanting to put all my money (137BB) in this spot. Makes things simple. Too reckless? Fine? Comments welcome. |

Re: Pusing a small edge with a full wrap - Flop play
I like this play, I like to play very aggressive in shorthanded play and I dont mind getting all my money in with a big draw. Weaker players might not even pick up on the strength of your hand in this spot might start thinking "wow this guy is crazy to put in all his money on the flop with a draw." You might get paid off in the future when you pick up a big hand and your oppenents are skeptical.
