All silly arguments about EV of running it twice aside, you need to realize you could have avoided this whole situation by asking for a new setup prior to this hand. [/ QUOTE ] Spectacular thread, but this wins. (Neutral EV, LDO, btw. Just gonna call it a 75/25 for easy math Run once wins: .75 * 15000 = $11,250 loss: .25 * 0 Run twice: W-W: .5625 X 15000 = $8437.50 W-L: .1875 X 7500 = $1406.25 L-W: .1875 X 7500 = $1406.25 L-L: .0625 X 0 both total EV = $11,250, so it depends on which distrubution you prefer. Playing live with limited access to additional cash probably makes the reduction of the likelihood of busto from 25% to 6.25% worthwhile) |

Re: ahnuld loses his biggest pot, live
I am amazed at the number of people that cannot get this simple concept. If anyone thinks that the EV of the two hands are different, consider a scenario where the dealer switches the 2nd card (1st turn) and 4th card (1st river) with the 6th card (2nd turn) and 8th card (2nd river).
How can the EV of the 6th & 8th card being the turn/river be any different than the 2nd & 4th card being the turn/river? The only way that the situation would be not EV neutral is if a player had the right to decide whether another "run" was conducted based on the outcome of the 1st trial. |

Re: ahnuld loses his biggest pot, live
Is it possible in a casino to say that we run it for the full deck (theoretically)?
Than it would mean we divide the money based on EV right there, so no variance. I would like such a solution in such a situation. |
