I never seen either the Borgata or Taj (the places I play) charge anything else. In fact, I can recall one holiday (Thanksgiving weekend last year) when the Borg. waived the fee.

The Taj sometimes bumps it up to $10 if they have some event going on (the did this at least once a few weekends ago), but if you show a player's card, it's still $5.

Do you have more info about the greyhound from DC? I checked it a few weeks ago and it was $45 roundtrip, and I don't remember seeing anything about a casino rebate.
That is still not really that expensive, but if I understand correctly you also don't have a guaranteed seat on any bus - I am worried if I went up there and went to catch the last bus out of town in the evening but it was already full I would be stuck.

I live not far from the Silver Spring mini-station. When I'm going to bus it to AC, I always have to get my tickets at the ticket counter, can't get the special rate online/over the phone.

Not sure if they do the same thing out of Union Station. But I know they offer a similar deal out of New Carrolton. As far as return trip goes - if you get shut-out from a bus and there's a 10+ person line, they usually send a 2nd bus, no promises though. Either way, the bus travels back to DC on a very regular schedule, roughly every 2 to 5 hours.

I'm hopping on a plane to Vegas in about 37 hours - after I get back from that trip I'll be hitting AC more often, probably. God bless the bus!
