Re: DILEMMA
[ QUOTE ]
Suppose you have a dilemma. What do you do about it? [/ QUOTE ] Blame it on someone else. Then go on a violent rampage, get caught, you are a victim, have a circus trial, get acquitted, write a book, make a movie, get rich, retire on French Rivera. Next question (or, repeat as above as often as necessary). -Zeno |

Re: DILEMMA
[ QUOTE ]
Serious answer: I have no idea. I don't have dilemmas. I can count on one hand the decisions in my life that it has taken me more than 2 seconds to make, and in each of those cases I was really just stalling because the decision sucked. You know the baseball cliche, tie goes to the runner? Well, thats not actually a rule, and for good reason, since there is no such thing as a tie. Some decisions are relly, really close, but none of them are ties. [/ QUOTE ] In the same way that you could artificially construct poker situations where calling, folding and raising all have exactly the same EV, I'm sure you could artificially construct a dilemma where each option has equal but nonidentical value. Continuing with the poker analogy, you'd make your decision on which has less 'variance'. |
