I am buying a new computer and would like to save the notes for players at Bodog. After contacting customer service I received this response Dear Charles, Thank you for contacting Bodog Poker Customer Service. We regret to inform you that you will not be able to save the player notes. They are located in the Registry of your computer and are not viewable. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for writing. If you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. Good luck at the tables! Regards, Poker Customer Service ************************************************** ********** ANYONE know of a way around this. |

Try this little trick, I assume you know how to search for files on your PC. Open the poker client, put a note on somone at your table that is distinct, like for example, straightshooter.
Then do a search on your PC for straightshooter. It should find the file where your notes are stored. I do not believe they place them in your registry, this is a bogus response. |

It would be mildly surprising if they put them in the registry, but hardly impossible. Certainly not unlikely enough to claim their response must be untrue!

If they do put the notes in the registry, it should still be possible to find them by searching in regedit for the player name or the text of the note (assuming they're not using some kind of bizarre binary encoding for them). Then the registry key that is used for player notes can be exported to a .reg file and imported on the new computer.

[/ QUOTE ] They do put them in the registry. I wrote a utility called NoteDog that lets you edit, save, and transfer Bodog notes. NoteDog requires that you are using the .NET Framework. You can check to see if you have .NET framework installed by looking at Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs and looking for Microsoft .NET Framework there. Link to .NET framework download. Download the NoteDog setup .exe |
