Default Ax suited in small blind

no reads on MP1. table is rather loose overall though.

PokerStars 0.10/0.20 Hold'em (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, 1 fold, MP3 calls, CO calls, 1 fold, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: (6 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 bets, MP3 folds, CO folds, Hero calls, BB calls, UTG+1 folds.

Turn: (4.50 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, MP1 bets, Hero calls, BB calls.

River: (7.50 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, MP1 bets, Hero calls, BB calls.

Final Pot: 10.50 BB

Terrible call down I assume? Should I have showed more aggression early by re-raising flop or just betting out, then folding on a later street if someone played back?

When you get to the river, calling down is fine; you split with any Ax unless Villain is a wuss who doesn't raise AT+.

Check/raising the flop is a must, though.

My guess is:

Check /raise the flop. (fold to a 3 bet
Lead the turn (fold to a raise)
Bet/fold the river.

My thoughts:

I don't like betting the river. Unless he has reason to suspect villain is playing junk like K6 or Q4, you're not being called unless you're beaten, (he could also have 77,88 but unlikely). If he calls the turn he has an ace better kicker or flushdraw. The rare times he has the junk or pocket pair, you might induce a bluff.

Why do you c/r the flop? There was no pfr. I bet the flop.

With 6 players, it's highly unlikely that this flop gets checked through. Since a c/r protects the most against longer-shot draws, it's better than betting, where everyone is getting at least 7:1.

If the bettor is late or last to act, that is. I wouldn´t raise if the bettor was second to act and everyone called.

And yeah, when you check, some one will probably bet, so you don´t actually have to bet yourself and can even fold if things look bad without investing.

Ok. I don't have a problem with check and call 1 on the river but I also don't know why we think we are behind. With hero having shown no indication of a hand, what we see here may not be what we would have seen if hero had played the flop aggressively.

Thanks for the advice, I was pretty sure I knew what to do... and not so sure why I didn't actually do it. I'll have the confidence next time
