Default NL25: Lucky TP from the BB

I'm trying to level up from NL10, this was my first 15 mins at this table and I was feeling a bit trigger happy. No reads at all. What do I do with this river, and how badly did I play this up to then?

Check the river and hope he checks behind, you beat nothing but a busted flush draw as played.

Don't raise the turn. I would c/f the turn, as you have been minreraised on the flop and bet into after checking. I think your only two lines in this hand on the turn are lead the turn or check/fold the turn and I'd rather not put decent money into the turn with a marginal hand in NL25.

Yeah, I thought as much. I really f'ed this hand up, I got it into my head that he was on a flush draw and bet the river for some reason that I can't now remember. Heehaw.

Whenever you are thinking about betting, you want to consider why you are betting in the first place and what hands will that opponent call/raise/fold to the bet you will make. Don't get in the habit of betting because you think you will look weak if you don't because you'll end up throwing away alot of money that way. If you think he really is on a flush draw, check the river as he is only going to fold your river bet with a busted draw (unless he bluff reraises, you need a read for that) and call your river bet with a better hand. That is significantly -EV. If he bluffs abit and you have a good read that he is on a flush draw, then check and give him the opportunity to try to steal the pot. But honestly, a flush draw is very unlikely to play the way he did. Ask yourself why would a guy with a decent stack play a flush draw to the river like that? If he minraised you on the flop for a free card on the turn, then he would take it and not bet.

Fold flop after reraise, unless you have a good read on villain, which isn't the case.

You are ahead of a FD and only a FD (which will have an opportunity to outdraw you) and you are in deep [censored] against almost all of his other possible holdings.
