Living Beijing vs. Bangkok

if you like an assortment of asian women, hong kong is better than shanghai.

but of the two you choose i'd never NOT pick beijiing... but then again i'm biased as i like chinese women.

(been living in shanghai for 15 months, grew up in beijing and live there on and off quite regularly)

i just think beijing is dirty in a "dirt/dust/polution" kind of way, while bangkok is dirty in a "i wouldn't live there" kind of way. bangkok is a nice place to visit though.

i don't see myself living anywhere but NYC, LA, shanghai, and hong kong in my life for more than a very short amount of time

cable makes probably the best point here which I think is a no brainer but the usual thai crew gets all over me when I say it Thai women are mostly ugly, chinese women (especially around shanghai though not shanghainese especially) are so damn sexy.

Cable the cities you list for living are great (i've never been to NYC but it's always been on my list to live) however I really think that my ideal place to live would definitely be Singapore.

singapore kind of sucks imho. its gotta be the most westernized of all the asian cities. ive been there so many times.

personally, singapore and hong kong are both way to clean and wealthy for my tastes.

Bangkok is too good to compare to any crap city in China.

if you come to bangkok, you should becareful with the bar girls because they are as you say, out of their minds, completely bat-[censored] insane. its only a matter of time until one of them extorts money from you or puts you in a bad situation.

btw, i just got bar-girled in a clothing store. this chick takes ten baht out of my hand and then wont give it back. im like "Ok, give me back my money" and she just looks at me blankly and says something semi-inaudible like "You buy t-shirt".

btw, i hearby copyright the term bar-girled used in this type of context. If someone borrows money from you on Stars and wont pay it back, you got bar-girled.

This happened to me in Vientiane when bar girl pulled two dollars out of my pocket. I didn't really protest because it made her a two dolla ho. She later bought me a drink worth almost $2 so I guess it worked out.

OP, I just talked to ofdabeat about China and his impression was that Thais are much more accepting of foreigners than Chinese. He gave an example of a black guy on a crowded bus with empty seats around him. It's a little better for white people but he greatly prefers Thailand. He doesn't have much free time atm but maybe he'll expand on this.

Chinese people ( depending on the province ) can be extremely narrow minded, intolerant, very very racists ( when a doctor refuse to touch you cause you are white, or the bus crazy full but still no one wants to sit around the black guy you can say very very ), extremely money oriented to a point of no return ect...

Their smiles are very fake and they are disgusting ( spiting all the time, eating like pigs ect...)

Some of them are nice and i don t know the whole China.

but frankly except for business just don t go there.

PS: if you are chinese too late i already have many death treats on my head to care

thanks for responses all. question, what is the cost of living like in shanghai or beijing compared to bangkok? also wouldn't hong kong be worse for girls because they are rich, seems like it would be closer to a vegas experience than a bangkok experience.

Have you been to any major cities outside of the US? I don't think you understand how different foreign cultures are. Besides the fact that they are both big cities, a lot of people, etc...I can't think of one single thing that Hong Kong has in common with Vegas. The mere notion that they are similar cities is ludicrous. And it's pretty much the same for all the other Asian cities you're asking about.
