($11) 44 UTG 4 handed
Did I make a mistake on this hand? I picked up 44 under the gun 4 handed in an $11 SNG on Paradise. I starated playing tight and aggressive, but with 5 left, I called an all-in preflop with 44 again, but lost, so I had recently been playing very aggressive and had run my stack up to 2nd place with about 2500 with the leader having about 5100, 3rd 1200 and 4th 800 or so. UTG I pick up wired 4's and I make a raise of 3x the BB, which was 150/300. I raise, the button folds, the chip leader in the SB calls, and the BB folds. The flop comes 688 and SB checks to me. I fire 900, and the leader comes over the top for all my chips, which was 717 left after my bet. What do I do? Results in white:
I called after some deliberation, feeling I didn't have enough left to fold. I was shown 66 for a flopped boat and was eliminated on the bubble. |

[/ QUOTE ] I pretty much never would put out any part of my stack UTG with these chip stacks (short of AA/KK, and then maybe only AA). If you are going to play, you must push. [ QUOTE ] the chip leader in the SB calls [/ QUOTE ] CL pwned you by NOT going all in, which he very easily could have. If he pushes over you PF you have to fold (which is really why this is push or fold from the get go) and you're down to about 5 BBs, but at least you still have some chips. Instead he got greedy and only called, hoping to stack you on the flop. [ QUOTE ] with 5 left, I called an all-in preflop with 44 again called an all-in preflop with 44 again [/ QUOTE ] This could be a problem depending on circumstances, you should look at that too. |

[ QUOTE ] with 5 left, I called an all-in preflop with 44 again called an all-in preflop with 44 again [/ QUOTE ] This could be a problem depending on circumstances, you should look at that too. [/ QUOTE ] That was a much different situation. A small stack moves in for 3-4x BB and I called with 44 as did another player, leaving him with only 200 more. The flop came 667 and when I was checked to I put him in. He had 7d 6d for the flopped boat. The first all-in had Ac 4c. Thanks for the feedback guys. |
