Re: Sopranos Season Finale Discussion

[ QUOTE ] having nothing happen is not brilliant. nothing happens when i don't even turn on the tv, there is supposed to be some improvement. [/ QUOTE ] i don't think nothing was happening in the last scene. it was really setup by his meeting with junior. made him realize, at least for a moment, that in the end all this business stuff doesn't mean anything. also i thought it was kind of cool how the restaurant had some sketchy looking characters that made us insanely paranoid, while tony was sitting there completely calm and at peace for one of the first times ever. [/ QUOTE ] Yes I get what the scene was trying to do. Explain how Meadow's inability to park added to the brilliance of this scene. |

Re: Sopranos Season Finale Discussion
not the worst ending ever, but seriously, is the real ending the one we have in our heads anyways? I like the idea that 'the ending is what you make of it' but wow, why cliffhanger a series finale other than pure spite of your audience?
I think chase did a dis-service to the characters to end it that way, no fade away, just done; like a gunshot. |

Re: Sopranos Season Finale Discussion
the details made this one. the jukebox thing at the end was great. the cat staring at christopher. the scene in agent harris' office was awesome. they fit it all in, even a wideshot of satriales'.
i also like how they focused on the lonely guy drinking a cup of coffee as the would-be hitman. there was tony with his family... so many other ways tony could've ended up in his life. he is not doing so bad. maybe there was a little letdown in how easily things were settled and how back to normal the show went in its closing shots. but it was bound to be a letdown. overall it was a great episode. |
