Anyway lets just say that our plan works...you flat call and UTG raises to $70, one other person calls, and it gets back to you. There is now like $190 in the pot or something..more if someone else calls (very possible in a live game). So you can push with good FE - I suspect you only get called by a very narrow range - if you do get called you have plenty of equity vs that range given the $$$ in the pot.

OK, I follow you now. Brilliant play. So, I definitely want UTG to re-reraise here. Now, if he does that, and one of the EP limpers re-re-reraises, then I can fold -- knowing I'm up against AA or KK for sure (right?). With so much action after the initial UTG raise, can I still be pretty sure he's not re-reraising with AA or KK?

UTG could reraise and it could back to you HU which would be a tricky spot.

[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah.. that would be tricky. Do I fold then?

Bastard. LOL

Well, the result was... I folded.

UTG & everyone else called.

Flop: AQJ w/ 2 diamonds.

MP bet 1/2 the pot, everyone folded.

That flop would have sucked for me, though -- will run into AQ & AJ here a lot. KT from some donkeys. Oh well, I lost $2 that hand... will play it different next time, though. Thanks for all the great feedback!

That flop is the reason that reraising to ~$70 would suck for you, since you wouldn't really know what to do postflop, but it would probably result in you winning w/o showdown or losing if all of the chips got in.

Anyway - final thought is that especially live I love getting all in preflop with AK if there is a lot of dead money on the table.

This seems to be easier live since people are more willing to call big bets preflop compared to online. Every table is different though...you may have made a good laydown based on the info you had a the time.
