Re: How far am I driving the ball
Maybe you are delofting the irons and turning the 7iron into a 5. Something is not right here...225 avg is not even close to how far you should be hitting it if the 7 goes 165.

Re: How far am I driving the ball
One more thing, are you teeing the ball really low? Modern drivers need the ball teed high as the sweet spot is near the top of the club, if you tee it low it's like a mishit evry time. Could explain why your 3 wood goes further.

Re: How far am I driving the ball
[ QUOTE ]
Something is off if you hit your 7 165yds and your 4 only 185yds. [/ QUOTE ] agreed that the OP has weird distance gaps. If there is 20 yards between his gap wedge and pitching wedge, then he should at least have 10 yards in between irons which means that his 3 hybrid should be 200+ easy. It certainly sounds like he is delofting his irons. By comparison I try to hit a high fade in my shorter irons, so my 7 iron goes about 155-160 (shorter than the OP), but my 5 iron is already about 185, my 3 hybrid is about 210 and I regularly hit drives around 280-300. |
