I am a midstakes NL grinder; I rarely play tourneys at all, so I am a little out of tune to how these play. villian is totally unknown. how are my bet sizes? should I pot the turn to set up a river push or will that scare him off an overpair? call river? and if not should i just check it back (???) I put him on QQ-AA (AJ?) on the flop/turn.

Why not JJ or another 9?

In every case this is a clear call - if he has the last 9 this is a split pot, if he has JJ - better luck next time, but most likely is Jx.
I'd never fold trips here.

Looks good to me.

You have to call the shove as people play REALLY poorly on the first few hands of this tournamnet. This is missed diamonds (maybe with the Ad) a lot more than it should be.

You have to call simply based on potodds, and hope he has AJ.

Btw if villian had boat here he played it absolutly perfect leaving you no chance to escape. Renember his line and use it in the future to stack someone.

I mucked. If he had JJ/A9 a turn c/r would get my stack.
If he had AJ or a missed draw thats a ballsy river line and I got owned.
In retrospect you guys are right and its gotta be a call getting 4:1 or so. Just felt like AA at the time. whatev.
