Starts $30 MTT - Check or bet set on flop?
Villain is 25%/11%/2AF after about 40 hands.
Have seen 2 hands shown: 1 KQ bluff on JTxxx board, and a 3s full house on 366xx board. Just felt like restealing here on the button since he stole my blinds the last 2 orbits in this position. What is my line on this flop? PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (9 handed) internettexasholdem.com UTG+1 (t22829) MP1 (t6750) MP2 (t2235) MP3 (t740) CO (t9122) Hero (t8920) SB (t7840) BB (t13752) UTG (t6950) Preflop: Hero is Button with 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 5 folds, CO raises to t400, Hero raises to t1200, 2 folds, CO calls t800. I kind of like the fact that the A came. |

Re: Starts $30 MTT - Check or bet set on flop?
With 44 I would probably just smooth call pf when you are this deepstacked. As played I would lead out the flop after it was checked to you. You need to start building the pot and most of the times you will only get paid off if your opponent has an A. Checking then raising his bet on turn (if he bets) looks too strong and a lot of players will shutdown after seeing such action.

Re: Starts $30 MTT - Check or bet set on flop?
Checking looks like you hit your set of aces or at least TPTK.
I definitely bet this... I pick an amount that will look like he has fold equity with a check shove when he puts you on KK. Normally I pot this but that seems to be a bit too much so lets go with 2000 straight. If you are smooth called obv check behind on the turn (non broadway) and shove river. |
