OOP, big pot, in trouble
I'm raising this in the SB because button is a huge fish and is limping like 60% of his hands. BB villain seems to be an unremarkable TAG.
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) Button ($24.50) Hero ($166.95) BB ($232.40) UTG ($136.15) MP ($108.95) CO ($98.50) Preflop: Hero is SB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 3 folds, Button calls $1, Hero raises to $5, BB calls $4, Button folds. Flop: ($11) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets $8, BB raises to $20, Hero raises to $59, BB calls $39. Turn: ($129) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) So, my hand "improved" but now if he has a boat my flush outs are no goot. Comments on all streets plz and tell me what to do on turn. |

Re: OOP, big pot, in trouble
stack sizes make this tricky - i would in fact just call the flop to avoid this
if i'm feeling flippamenty, i would push the flop, though it's obv. what you have the way you played it, you have 115 in a 129 pot, i wouldn't fold how could he have a set? - he'd def. push the on the flop i guess if he has A9 you're dead, but that's really the only reasonable hand he can have that really crushes you if you're out kicked, you still have flush outs + 3 seven i would push - but it's thin - maybe he folds A4? |

If the pot were bigger in relationship to your stack I might check again btu here a bet of $60-$70 looks good. |

[/ QUOTE ] i never said anything about FE, i just think you're not doing super hot vs. villain's range, but you may be doing well enough to get it all in... that still leaves ch ca or open push edit: oh i see my A4 reference, but i don't think he has that very often at all.... just sort of thinking out loud about the hands he could have |

Re: OOP, big pot, in trouble
he never folds A4 here... NEVER
flopreraise was total spew, I think youre dead here (because flushouts no more good) and hes likely to have A4/a9, so IF he has A4 youre drawing to three sevens to win and some 9s to split. If he has A9 youre dead. Avoid to get anymore money into the pot. C/F turn :/ |

Re: OOP, big pot, in trouble
The flop reraise makes no sense unless he has a lower flushdraw, which is only a small part of his range.

Re: OOP, big pot, in trouble
If Hero smooth calls the flop bet and the turn brings another A, what is the play?
There will be ~$50 in the pot and the effective stacks are ~$140. |

I would not repop the flop.

[/ QUOTE ] If I hadn't reraised the flop, I'm still unsure what I would do on the turn. I think a check/call might be best, but I know how the hand turned out. Actually my gut move might be leading for a 1/2 pot blocker and calling(?) a raise/shove. |
