My GF and I are going to Boston for her bday.

Any recommendations on what to do & where to stay?

restaurants, shows, museums, other???

The problem with having these sorts of "What to do in X" threads is that they are too general and vague, and to be honest, kind of lazy. If we were to indulge you and start throwing out random suggestions, it only encourages other people to start posting other "What to do in X" threads that are equally vague and generic. Indulge us next time and do a bit of homework -- for example, go Google a list of good restaurants in Boston, come back, and make a thread asking people for their thoughts on these Boston restaurants. It makes it easier to give you a good response, and it also makes you look not so leechy.

Or just search EDF, they have a lot of threads on specific cities with very detailed information IIRC

There was a lengthy thread fairly recently about things to do/places to eat in Boston. I bet if you come back with questions about specific hotels/restaurants/activities you'll get a bunch of replies.

RESTAURANTS:

- Seafood - Skipjack's
- Steak - Grill 23
- Barbecue - Village Smoke House (Brookline)
- Italian - leave Boston and drive to Providence. Federal hill pwns the North End

- Beer - The Sunset Grill in Allston
- Mexican food + tequila - Rudy's (Teele Square in Somerville)
