Re: Relaxing places to go to get FREE internet?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I don't think playing poker for anything other than micro stakes is a very good idea when using a free internet service. I have no idea what kind of security they have set up, and I doubt if you asked them they would know either. [/ QUOTE ] Wouldn't playing micro stakes pose the same risk that playing any stakes would? Mainly that your password would get stolen? [/ QUOTE ] Yes |

Re: Relaxing places to go to get FREE internet?
I think the implication was that at microstakes
1) You'd be less likely to draw attention from someone in the cafe 2) There wouldn't be enough worth stealing in your account. 3) Public wireless is more likely to [censored] out randomly for no reason and losing a 100BB pot because of internet dying sucks a lot less at .01/.02 than at 10/20 |

Re: Relaxing places to go to get FREE internet?
When I did Verizon it was a 15-day satisfaction-guaranteed window.
And if you cancelled after that I thought it was one month on top of what you had already paid for. Not sure why you got dinged for $180. Also not sure why it didn't work so hot for you. When I travel around it works great in any other major cities. And it's dial-up like speed outside the major cities or on the highay or something. My only complaint is that it seems to have a 20 or 30 second re-start somewhere around midnight or later. Sometimes it's not even long enough to time-out from the hands but usually there's one or two tables where I don't make it back in time. That's almost always just once an evening though. |
