If I remember correctly, the 2nd chance events don't start until a few days after the Main Event starts.

I think they are a total of $550 to enter them.

For the last 2 years there have been $500 tournaments every night at 11pm. Plus a couple of super sats for the main event every day.

Are these not happening this year?

I have heard a $1,000 Second chance event announced at least once (Tuesday night), so they definitely have run on at least some nights.

Here is a link to the layout of the WSOP, and yes, it looks like they 86'd the 2nd chance events (prior to the ME) and replaced them with Mega Satalite events where the prize is a seat into the main event:

http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/to...309&sats=1

Me thinks they want the most people to be forced to actually play in the WSOP ME, and not to take the cash.

To prove that fact, here is the link to the structure sheet for the Mega Satalites:

http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/to...mp;groupid=309

(take note of the paragrahph at the bottom)

Players begin with $3,000 in Tournament Chips. All levels will last 30 minutes. For every $10,200 generated through Buy-Ins, one seat will be awarded into the WSOP Championship Event held on July 6-17, 2007 plus $200 cash. The prize money that does not reach $10,200 will be paid out to (1) additional place. If the net prize pool does not reach $10,200, 1st place will receive 100% of the net prize pool. Mega Satellite Winners may not assign or transfer their entry into the Championship Event. 3% from total Buy-Ins will be withheld for the staff.

If you go here:

http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/to...sp?groupID=309

and scroll down towards the bottom, you'll see that where the 2nd chance events don't start until a few days AFTER the ME starts.

there is a 2nd chance every night (1060) at 7 but it basically sucks. 73 people last night, played till something like 2 AM. def not worth it, do the bellagio/venetian/etc. instead.
