If anyone can help me find a discount I'll be greatly obliged. I called Dell a few mins ago and they are asking for $1500 USD.

How do you get the background to flood three screens? I have two 19' dells and it treats the wallpaper as two seperate monitors...So I have two of the same backgrounds

Just find a wallpaper that is 3200 x 2400 or whatever the equivalent of your maximum resolution multiplied by two, and then click Stretch on the wallpaper properties.

I tried to figure this out but I'm still stumped.

I have two Dell 2405FPWs. If I set those two up verticaly like the OP did, what size monitor and resolution would I need to fit one in the middle like he did?

[/ QUOTE ]

14 months later and there's still not a monitor big enough to accomplish that.

the Dell2405 is normally 22" wide (in landscape mode)

thus, if you rotate them into portrait, they will be 22" high.

therefore, you are looking for a monitor 22" high

displays are normally measured by their diagonal size, so we need to convert a monitor height of 22" to find their diagonal size.

a widescreen monitor has a 16:10 aspect ratio.

therefore, a 22" high widescreen monitor is 35.2" wide.

using high school maths, the diagonal of the monitor is the square root of 22^2 + 35.2^2. MS excel tells me that this is 41.5".

Thus, to do this with Dell 2405 monitors on the side, you need to have a 41.5" monitor
(as far as I'm aware, no 41.5" monitors exist, however, 42" LCD monitors exist for TVs - while these will have a significantly lower DPI, they will give you the visual effect you're after)
