Default Minor In POssession, Infraction, a bit scared.

So for Sungod, a day where everyone get's drunk @ UCSD, I got a MIP infraction, said the officer. I need the car to commute to and from classes, will my license still be revoked? Thanks.

I don't know about California, but in Minnesota an alcohol-related offense -- as long as it has nothing to do with driving -- will not affect your driving privileges.

I just did a quick google search and glanced at this (Texas):

The court shall order the Department of Public Safety to suspend the minor’s driver’s license or permit or, if he does not have one, to deny the issuance of one for: 30 days if he has no prior convictions; 60 days if he has one prior conviction; or 6 months if he has 2 prior convictions.

I'm sure you can find out the Cali laws easily with a little google-search

I did a search, and it said i would ahve to get a suspension of 1 year. ONE FREAKIN YEAR?!?! Are you kidding? Would it be lessened due to the fact that I go to a UC (University of California?) and that during that day, EVERYONE was drunk?

Were you driving? If not, shouldn't affect your licence at all. All you will have to do is go to a "alcohol is bad" class and pay a fine.

Not driving, but it says in California law that if a minor gets convicted, his license MUST be taken away.
