how much should a queen size mattress cost?

my girlfriend went to 3 or 4 shops in our neighborhood and the lowest price she could find was 280 dollars ( the other mattresses ranged from 375 to 700 each ). that seems kind of high, do those prices seem kind of high? this is in queens NYC for what it's worth.

I got a really cheap one. but I got a queen size mattress and box spring for 220. That is in Kentucky.

$280 for a queen mattress? Is the box spring included or are you just throwing this thing on the ground?

BTW, $280 is cheap. In fact it's so cheap don't even bother getting it. The bed will last a year, and your back will hate you for it. I am good friends with a guy who sells beds, I bought a queen bed that retails for $1200 and paid $600. Mattress companies put ridiculous mark-ups on their beds.
