Re: Arguments for state-monopolized currency
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I have little opinion either way. [/ QUOTE ] You don't seem like a very good anarchist. [/ QUOTE ] Meh. Somethings just don't strike my argument bone. Although, I have used a local currency though, called a Madison "hour" set to 1 MH = $10. Seemed gimmicky. But I almost always use credit/debit, so it really is just numbers to me. [/ QUOTE ] What's the point of using a different currency if it's tied directly to the USD in it's worth? Or was that just what the conversion was at that point? [/ QUOTE ] Sounds like some "labor theory of value" influenced quackery to me. [/ QUOTE ] Shake: yeah, that was just the conversion rate. pvn: Pretty spot on. The idea was that 1 "hour" of work ought to have x purchasing power given in return. I'm pretty sure it died off a few years ago; I haven't seen any in a long time. |
