Please show me where I suggested that

I guess you never explicitly said it, but every criticism of the free rider implicitly argues for government intervention to take care of the free rider problem. I'm sorry if I misinterpreted what you were saying, but please fill me in on the non-governmental solution you have to the free rider problem.

Ah, you see that's the thing. There is absolutely no point to this OP. Borodog showed a simplistic example of how the "free-rider problem" is not a market failure. Goodsamaritan's example not only doesn't show a market failure, it is just as simplistic as Borodog's.

How has this thread not been put to bed yet?

Ah, you see that's the thing. There is absolutely no point to this OP. Borodog showed a simplistic example of how one particular "free-rider problem" is not a market failure. Goodsamaritan's example not only doesn't show a market failure, it is just as simplistic as Borodog's.

This is like proving 2 is prime, and then saying that all primes are even.

I'd be really interested if you or someone could provide a better more realistic case of the free rider.
