I have this problem as well. The only way to counter it seems to be to make a killer first shot and knock enough of the yellow balls off to counter the fact that the computer is going to take out at least 2 of your on its first shot.

All that drama, and I still go on to lose that game, so the lesson we learn: Guys who are good at trick shots never win the money. I guess it's the pool equivalent to FPS.

I play this game too much.

Since it's put me on lifetilt, I started screwing around with different ideas - like trying to see what the FEWEST points I could get in winning the first game (getting out of the first four rounds).

So far, my record is 710.
