Question on Craps Tournament
I've been invited to play in a craps tournament at the Rio this weekend. While I'm very familiar with craps in general, I've never had any experience with a tournament. Can anyone shed some light on how these work? What's the structure? What are the high level strategic differences? Any recommendations would be welcome. Thanks!

Re: Question on Craps Tournament
Read the dealers thread Alien boy will teach you how to become a jedi master and affect the outcome of your throws.
They are so good at their jedi skills that all the major strip casinos are going out of business because they keep breaking the bank |

So you don't believe controlled shooting is possible just because you can't do it?

Re: Question on Craps Tournament
Guys, since govman referenced a thread about dice setting, how about we leave the dice setting discussion there.
Mongorama, there's definitely strategy to a craps tourney. I'm not sure how yours will be structured, but I imagine that most of the strategy will involve managing your variance, as well as betting along with/against certain players. I'd love to hear from anybody with more experience with these. |

Re: Question on Craps Tournament
I'm also playing in that tournament! When I registered, the woman couldn't give me any details on the tournament. Did you even find out what time it starts on Saturday and what time it goes til? I have somewhere to be Saturday night

Re: Question on Craps Tournament
I wish I knew, Double Down. When I called yesterday to register, the rooms at the nicer Harrah's properties (i.e. Rio/Paris) were booked. I ended up at Bally's, but the problem was that the registration form with all the tourney info wasn't available to the marketing rep, who said they're usually available a week before the tourney begins. Since I'm not getting there until Saturday, where only "Late" registration is available, I'm assuming that those that register on Friday may be able to choose their starting time slots, while I'll just have to take what's left. So hopefully you can register on Friday and work that around your Sat Nite schedule.
