Default crazy inlaws, child protective services, and poker as main income.

So my inlaws are crazy, always reporting each other to cps between trying to get each other in trouble with the law.

Anyway it looks like one of them turned my family in to child protective services.

Anyone deal with anything like this? My wife and I are good parents so I am not worried except for the poker thing mainly, also a little about the horror stories I have read on the net about rogue cps agents.

any advice?

move far, far away. srsly, why stick around when there are idiots trying to screw up your life? either that, or plant some heroin in their house and call the narcos. that'll teach em!

My mom is a social worker and she's done some of these things for the state. Mostly they're looking for abuse. If they come to you're house and everything looks legit, you're fine. If gambling in itself were reason to take away your kids, there would be a hell of a lot of kids in custody of the state. As long as you aren't buying scratch off tickets instead of baby formula, you'll be fine. Maybe have copies of your tax returns and bank statements available. If you want you can PM me and I can ask my mom about any concerns you might have.

PS: If you're lying here and have actually been abusing your kids please die.

If I was lying I wouldn't post the [censored].

My kids go to their pediatrician regularly, they are well taken care of.

I am just worried after googling and reading that they like to make crap up and twist everything you say.

PS: Yes child abusers should die.

I'm glad to see that we are all united against child abuse.

i am a former CPS worker. i worked ongoing services in Colorado.

what state are you in? why did your family report you? as whoami said, most areas wont care about gambling as long as youre providing for your children. if a case does go to court, parents are court appointed attorneys in most cases so you can consult w/ them and see how to handle it.

but the county wont file on you in the first place if there is not evidence of abuse or neglect. abuse is considered corporal punishment that leaves marks. neglect is more subjective.

just out of morbid curiosity. Is hitting your child with a switch on the rear end to where it leaves a mark really abuse? I do not have any children btw.
