Default Re: flopping a straight

The odds of flopping any str8 are 76:1.
Odds of flopping any open-ended str8 or double gutshot draw: 9:1
Odds of flopping a Straight or 8 out straight draw: 7.5:1

You can figure out the odds of flopping the nut str8 but adding up all the different flops that give you the nut and divide it by 19,600, which is the total number of possible Flops with 50 cards.

You can also do the same thing to determine the odds of flopping the nut str8 draw. The odds of making the str8 by the River are 2.18:1

5:1 to make it on the Turn, as there are 40 cards (of the 48 unseen cards) that will not make your hand/8 outs = 5.

4.875:1 on the River, as there are 39 unseen cards that will not make your hand/8 outs = 4.875:1.

Odds of losing money when you have nothing but a Straight to draw to: Much better than making it.
