Re: A-high-straight on paired board
I dont know if I immediatley put someone on a boat here. I could imagine seeing AK here a lot, or a smaller straight like what was shown.
Also, why the call on the flop? You are really only happy to see a K on the turn |

Re: A-high-straight on paired board
i wouldnt have called more than $1 on the flop. but i saw enough implied odds in case of catching a king.

Re: A.high-straight on paired board
First, hero folds rags out of position pre-flop.
Second here raises the pot with a monster hand, more like raise to 22. Then on the river, hero moves in. It's not all that likely a set is out there given the action. If you would have bet the nuts more aggressively, you wouldn't have had enough left behind to consider getting away from it. As played, I really hate to have to overcall a shove and a call. That's bad news. Bet your hand. It didn't have to come to that. |

Re: A.high-straight on paired board
Fold preflop.
Think hard about folding the flop. The K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] isn't the best card in the world for you in a limped pot like this. As ActionStan said, make a real raise on the turn. It's multiway. Either somebody has a hand they'll pay off with, or they don't. As played you have to call the river. T9 is in both their ranges, as is AK. So are boats, of course, but I think you might've heard from most boats before now (KQ/KJ at least). |
