Default 50NL: Did I finally play a TPGK situation the right way?

Probably not, if this is too passive against the fish, please tell me. Villain is 60/2/1 (60).

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) handconverter.com

BB ($11.63)
UTG ($15.55)
Hero ($53.35)
CO ($29.00)
Button ($49.54)
SB ($47.90)

Preflop: Hero is MP with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG calls $0.50, Hero raises to $2.25, 1 fold, Button calls $2.25, 2 folds, UTG folds.

Flop: ($5.75) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $4.5, Button calls $4.50.

Turn: ($14.75) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button checks.

River: ($14.75) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $9, Button calls $9.

Final Pot: $32.75

I am not entirely sure when to use this kind of pot control, so advice is appreciated.

Against this opponent, bet the turn.

I play this exactly the same.

I don't think you can get more than the 2 streets of value you did get, you controlled pot with a 1p hand, you would have got a raise from AK/A9/set etc. earlier so you vb nicely at the end. Villain must have AJ or AT here. All in all, I think your play is standard.

If he has you beat he is a dirty donkey because AK/set/2p are played horribly by him.

Finally, some might advocate a flop check to get value from non-A hands on later streets. Dunno, guess that's ok on occasion but here I play it like hero.

id probably value bet all 3 streets against this villian...against range of all Ax hands we are a fav and this guy is probably callin all 3 streets w/ Ax. Id bet about 2/3 on turn then 1/2-2/3 on river.

Against this kind of villain I am usually betting all three streets too. I have had mixed luck with it lately though, so I am starting to bet flop and turn, and check river planning to call a bet. I can't tell if the value you make up betting all three streets is greater than the extra bet you lose when your opponent spikes two pair.
