also the reason why the official rules would include way B is to end any possible arguments about balls hitting other balls - because of total nits.

you can play way A with the person closest to the hole hitting first instead of furthest away, since the rule for furthest away hits first is to prevent people getting hit with the ball, not a concern in mini-golf

I don't care how professional mini golfers play, but normal people use the whoever is farthest out goes first method. Don't you think its more fun to play as a group than play each hole individually?

I wonder if this is like a regional thing

having thought about it more, the best way is probably to take turns hitting your first shot, and then now that everybody has walked down to the hole together, closest can go first in order to make sure noone is in the way. but this doesn't work if you're betting, and i haven't played minigolf without betting since i was 7 probably.

Well you'll notice the poll is in regards to the rules, if such rules even exist, not about personal preference.

Some people like to play Monopoly with free parking giving a bunch of money or not auctioning off the properties, but those aren't the official rules.

Long story short, if you play any other way than way 2 the terrorists win.

I grew up in St. Louis, MO and we did it The Second Way. Occasionally a group of folks would come along and do it The First Way, but they were usually mouth-breathers from Festus or Arnold or some other trailer-dominated community.

This is like the tennis ball color question from the forum that shall not be named. When I read the OP, I was thinking "wtf this question is retarded. what kind of social outcast thinks that 2 could possibly be correct." Every group i've ever played with has used 1 without any discussion prior.
