Re: Facing huge overbet with a set
I never fold here, but it's probably a good fold.

Re: Facing huge overbet with a set
Why dont you raise the turn?
How much do you have left by the way?? River is really tough without reads, but sure looks like everything but a bluff and i cant figure AK betting like this. I dont know what kind of donks playing at 2/4. |

Re: Facing huge overbet with a set
you should lead the turn. without leading on the turn, you have no idea what your opponent has.
as played, i'd fold on the river too. It appears to be your lower set vs a higher set or a huge bluff. Unless opponent is crazy enough to bet this much with A-K or A-Q. I'd fold too. |

Re: Facing huge overbet with a set
I'd never get to the river like this since I'd always raise the turn.

Re: Facing huge overbet with a set
I'd never fold the river because I would be all in on the turn.

[ QUOTE ]
without leading on the turn, you have no idea what your opponent has. [/ QUOTE ] This is not the reason to lead the turn. ---- I guess I call, but I don't like it. It's just that everything about this hand is so weirdly played. His min-3bet is awful. But when players min-3bet me I tend to automatically put them on AA/KK until I have some reads. He checks behind on the flop. That is consistent with a donkey slowplaying AA. It is (probably) not consistent with somebody holding AK. AJ maybe. You check the flop. If he's got a monster, he's probably pissed you didn't fire at this, but he might still try to get some action by betting small. River is weirdest of all. I guess there some chance he does this with AJ/AK or a really stubborn KK. I think in general, that if you never fold sets 100bb deep, you won't be leaving much money at the tables. Especially without a read. |
