so my question is, should i make it a tourney with one rebuy or something?

Basically all the home games we play are Sit and Gos with 6-9 players, no rebuys. People seem to enjoy the fact that they know exactly how much they are going to lose in the worst case.

Last Saturday we played Crazy Pineapple for the first time and everybody had a lot of fun, so we're thinking about having two Sit and Gos every time we meet, one for NL Hold'em and then one after that for people who want to learn other games.

"I want him to have fun...so we are going to play limit."

^Seems like an oxymoron to me.

This statement makes you look like an oxymoron... limit can be more fun than NL especially short handed.
