Mid pair out of position
Im trying to learn FL now. And these kinds of hands are annoying me, and I would like to have some help.
1-2$ Hero: Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Everyone folds to CO who opens. We calls in the big blind. FLop comes: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. We check-call. Turn is a blank, and what is our plan now? Should we have re-reraised preflop, or check-raised on the flop? |

Re: Mid pair out of position
For me this is way ahead/way behind, so i check/call this hand all the way. Raising anywhere only gets worse hands to fold (maybe except KT,KJ) and loses more if he has the ace.

Re: Mid pair out of position
I often reraise PF. Once you call PF go passive on this board.

Re: Mid pair out of position
wow i can do lots of different things here, i don't think the EV on any of them is particularly different sometimes calling down sometimes cr flop planning to bet fold turn, sometimes reraise preflop, i suggest thinking of a few lines for hands like this it will make your game stronger think about how the play of this hands melds with the play of many other hands you will have on this flop.

Re: Mid pair out of position
3-betting preflop is best against players with a wide range and/or players that are not SD bound. Kx hands play easy against nitty players on A high flops AND KQ obviously has an eq edge if the stealers range is wide enough.
If he is loose postflop I dont mind c/r the flop. If he is tight preflop and good/decent postflop I think WA/WB is fine. Against a lot of players I dont mind a turn donk as they will check behind a lot if they know Hero is TAGish. |
