i quite like a flop check behind in these situations with such a drawy board and a v vunerable hand.(to avoid this v situation) then reasses and bet/call/raise a turn depending on the card.

as played fold the river. he prob has KJ or 88, occasionally air(missed draw) or AJ

as play

Hey, I 'll conceed your that your probably correct about this hand, and my thinking is a little fuzzy. I am here to learn and get feedback. Just b/c I don't have 10K posts doesn't mean I just showed up and started playing yesterday.
Lastly, I must be doing somethink right-I haven't had a job in years.

Most posters agree with Sklansky (See Theory of Poker) that betting for information is almost never a valid reason to bet. Stated very briefly, he views any information you might happen to receive by betting as a 'bonus.'

BTW -- Welcome to SSNL.

grunch

as played i call the river and expect a missed straight/flush draw or both.
I doubt he would risk a check behind on the turn with a set (risking getting drawn out) or full house (losing value) or even AK.

I'd consider 3-betting flop big as the board is super drawy and there is no straight yet possible.

Flop 3 bet is gross since it turns our hand into a bluff. I would not at all be surprised to see villain flip 88 since checking the turn after filling up is all the rage on PS these days.

I call, and expect to see [K8, QT, [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]] enough to overcome the turned full houses. I like the turn check, BTW. I sometimes fold flop, depending on how I'm feeling.
