Sucker owned this thread. Everything he said was spot on.

I've played a lot of places in the 20/40 - 100/200 range over the last 6 years and its always been (in terms of game quality and general personal enjoyment):

1. Commerce
2. Bay101
3. Bellagio

Not particularly close either.

All said and done, I dont see how any Bay Area LHE can make it onto a list in terms of beatable games.

If you can't beat the GC and Bay101 20-40 games, you should probably move down in limits. I play the 20-40 regularly at both casinos, and even ABC poker will make you a winning player.

Never played the 40-80.

Geez, how many 2+2ers are regulars in the 20/40 and 40/80 at Bay101/GC? You, Rowboat, Coelacanth, etc. . . .

The time I don't like the 40/80 game is when there is no 100 game going (or a long list) and the table has a number of 100/200 regulars "slumming" while they wait for the bigger game. They tend to be pretty tough to begin with, and the aggression factor seems to get magnified by the fact that they're playing in what is to them a low limit game.

I guess I can't speak for 10-25 nl or the occasional 100-200, but most everyone agrees that the 10-20 is tighter than the 20-40.

This makes sense, bc the 10 game is a 2 chipgame, while a 0 is a 4-chip game. This is why alot of rooms spread 8/16 rather than 10/20.

I've been all over and I have to say the best limit hold 'em game is just out side of Chicago at the Resorts Casino. They usually have two or three 5/10, 10/20 AND 20/40 games going simulatneous. In addition they'll one or two 30/60 and or 40/80 games going. A lot of big money from chicago goes there and it's so easy to beat.

I played 5-10 in Resorts in the summer of 05. I thought it was painfully tight (and over-raked). 2 other guys at the table were talking about SSHE and I was thinking "OMG, the secret is out."

i never played 20-40, but just because it's tighter dosen't make the players in it somehow better

they're still predictible and loose agressive post flop for the most part

not to mention the weekends plays like a 4-8 game

There's some others that post in the mid-limit forums. Anyway, I play off-peak hours. I'm pretty much never playing at night or on the weekends.

"they're still predictible and loose agressive post flop for the most part"

Predictability and postflop LAG don't usually go together.
