Default Nit Definition

Would anyone care to take a stab at a definition of the term "nit"?
I read it here all the time and would like to be sure I am clear on the meaning.
Thanks

it's like donk or fish. I think it means you play to tight.

Original definition:
Whiny, complaining rules lawyer that finds fault with every little thing at the poker table and at life.
"Deck change!"
"String raise!"
"Move over 0.5 inch, you are in my space."
"Take that toothpick off the table. Rules say no foreign objects allowed."
"You can't say 'gracias'. House rule is: 'English only at the table'"

Such players tended to be older and tended to play 'weak tight'.
So all the internet noobs picked up on the 'weak tight' part and use it that way.
But you can have LAG nits too.
