I know you're not a looter but if you were a looter, what would be the looting strategy that you would use to maximize your loot in the following stores?

Walmart-style big discount stores or price clubs

middle class department stores like macy, penney and others

electronic stores similar to best buy and such

The biggest mall in your hometown.

convenience store

grocery stores

dollar stores

Again, I know that you're not a looter. Neither am I (and I don't support this activity). But if you were, what's your strategy. The specific situation is that there has been another Rodney King incident and the cops that beat him up (because he resisted arrest and fought back) got acquitted. Lots of fellow looters running around in your city.

If its walmart, go with a few friends, get all the guns, the block off the perimeter so you dont have competition. Then you can take your time.

Mall would be similar. Interaction with other looters = -EV

Anyways first stops are jewlery stores for sure. Next would be camera stores and anywhere I think I can find laptops.

ok first you loot a walmart or other general type store for more "looting supplies" like the standard crowbar/smashing device, ski mask, guns, etc.

then you goto a store that has the best price per volume of goods. for example a jewelry store. the rest is up to you.

it's been a long time since i studied the LA riots but generally the patterns of looting in order of the types of stores hit are liquor stores, then furniture stores and then drug stores.

I always found it funny when I saw images from the LA riots and whatnot where people are stealing like easy chairs and packages of socks.

i did grad research on group behavior and in this case specially riots. people can write and say what they think they would do i suppose. i just contributed (albeit not much) and said what people actually do.
