As inept and disliked as Becky Binion Behnen was, does anyone wish the old Horseshoe still had the WSOP?

They certainly would not have had sufficient room the last couple years. They would have needed to lease space and move some events off site. But they had dealers who had been there for years and knew their stuff. Still do, I guess, but they're getting up in years.

It's just a shame--and there's no excuse for it.

"Harrahs owes me money" is a surprisingly common phrase in this town. Guess someone in payroll figured out you don't get rich by writing checks.

[/ QUOTE ]

Mine is slightly different. I worked for a company that was later aquired by Harrah's, but I let the new owners know where they can send me my money, but so far they haven't. I guess 42 days of pay isn't THAT much.

They'll all be leased eTables in a few years anyway. Does Harrah's have any interest in any of those companies? Perhaps this is long-term strategy.

Yes, but they didnt have to deal w/ 8k+ fields. I dont what they were like when they had the WSOP, but I know the people working in their poker room are as a rule atrocious.

That's an excellent point. I'm not excusing Harrah's because they certainly have the ability to run these much, much better if they wanted to but Binions was a Mom and Pop shop that could treat a couple hundred players well. Almost any local casino here in LA could do the same.

I cant see any problems with the cards. By the way, I'm employed by Harrah's.

FYP.

(I wish I was joking, but as many of you already know, he really is employed by Harrah's. I never say anything when he shills for his employer here, and says critical things about the competition, but this time, he's gone too far.)

[/ QUOTE ] When have I ever said anything critical about our competition that wasn't true? I talk up the Horseshoe because I KNOW we have the best room in town. If 3-6 limit and 1-2 NL are your thing go play somewhere else. If you want variety and the best food, service, and dealers, you know where to go.

As far as me working for Harrah's I have no first hand knowledge about the cards in question at the WSOP. At first glance they dont look THAT bad but that's just my opinion. I don't consider myself a "shill" for Horseshoe. People on this board ask questions about Tunica in general and I give my personal opinion about what Tunica has to offer. There are pleanty of other dealers/floor that post on this forum and talk up their place of work and I never heard anyone say they went to far.

thats ridiculous. I haven't come across an employee at Harrah's who likes the cards yet, why would he stick up for Harrah's when nobody else is? Especially since all evidence points to KEM - USPC as the ones who made the design decision, not Harrah's... he has nothing to shill for. He expressed his opinion, I don't view this as shilling.

[/ QUOTE ]

TT, I agree.
Doesn't stop the fact that chipr777 has lost his damn mind if he thinks those cards aren't the ugliest things ever.

Anyone reminded of the old-coke/new-coke disaster?
