UK affiliates: If we choose to pay tax, what are our options?
Do we pay VAT? Income tax? If so how do you register for VAT? If income tax is it just a case of adding it to taxable income?
I do not make much at all however I would like to pay tax on what I do. Help greatly appreciated. If you'd rather PM no problem, just I would really like to know. I'll post if I've received a PM (obv not saying who from). |

Bumping this as I'm in the same boat and getting conflicting advice on it. I presume if you stay self-employed its income, but if you become a ltd. company whats the position? My accountant thinks VAT and corporation tax apply. Can any UK affiliates enlighten me?

Re: UK affiliates: If we choose to pay tax, what are our options?
bump, anyone know?
ive just started in my accounting training the section on tax, so i may ask our tutor who knows everything about tax. also if we were to give money back to players, would we need records of this? i guess so only in case of being audited, in which case one could use the emails sent whenever you make a transfer. from my 1 day at learning about tax so far, i don't think it comes under VAT and corporation tax becuase we haven't set up a company. instead it will be classed as 'non-savings income' and so we pay 10%, 22% or 40% depending on our annual income. im going to include it on my tax return and pay my tax on it. i think i should just be under the £33,300 for taxable income plus personal allowance, as 40% is just sickening. |
