Dell 2001fp problem

Hi,

I've had my dell 2001fp 20inch monitor for a little approx 2+ years now. Just recently, on the left half of my screen, there is an almost permanent 1.5" wide vertical discolored strip going all the way up and down the screen (when its on and is displaying content). It is a bit hard to explain - I found this video online that someone else made of the same problem:

you'll see as he moves his pic around the screen, it crosses an area where this is discoloration. On my screen it is much more obvious than that.

Anyone have any idea what this is or if it can be fixed?

My 2001fp did that for a while. Try unplugging the power cord from the monitor and plugging it back in again. It will do a startup-check-thingy and may reset something that helps it recognize that part of the screen. That's what fixed mine anyway :P
