So my dell 8500 pos died last week, just over a year after they replaced the motherboard and the lcd. I vowed I would never give them another nickel after getting screwed over by their bogus refurb parts, and the fact that it [censored] crashed once a month for it's entire 4 year life. I guess if you spend enough their desktops are alright, but $2700 didn't buy a good lappy.

I am now gambooling and posting from the glowing keyboard of my 17" macbook pro. I never thought I'd be one of the retards talking about how much I like macs, but it's a pretty solid computer.

4 years ago, 8500 was their top end before the xps, it is like 3ghz 1gb ram i got pretty much every upgrade, and it was solid for the first 3 months for like games and whatever, but then it went the way every dell does.

here is the great thing, I bought this computer instead of buying apple stock, after getting the 1st gen ipod and deciding it was gonna change the world.

do the math, $5k stock @ ~$4/share --> now trading at ~$100

the computer was a great investment
