Also, Zambrano is huge and Barrett has no chance in that fight. I'm sure he took his pounding like a man though.

Rumor is Barrett has 2 black eyes and his lip was cut up so bad he had to go to the hospital. Will be interesting to see what he looks like today.

I'm guessing he gets the day off today. And no, Zambrano is not overrated. He's an "ace" who lets his emotions get the best of him. His flaws as a pitcher lay mostly in his head, not in his body/mechanics.

Zambrano's next start is going to be pretty damn interesting.

How much has Zambrano hurt his potential contract value with his performance so far this year? I would assume not much, but hes been pretty mediocre so who knows.

What could hurt him is the fact that it looks like he is hiding an injury. The performance itself probably won't affect it (see: Zito, Barry).

On Zambranos next start, maybe Barrett will pull a Crash Davis and tell the batters what pitch is coming.

I dont get why everyone is talking about how this would effect Zambrano. I think if anyone is leaving as a result of this its Barrett. It also seeme like people were kinda defaulting towards saying zambrano started it, which also seems pretty false to me.

Barrett was only catching Zambrano because Z's personal catcher (Blanco) went on the 15-day DL. Whatever happens, Barrett will not be catching Zambrano again.

Yeah, I was worried that he'd have a little DustyBaker-itis this year (ok, not entirely his fault, but still). His K rate is way down this year and I can see teams being worried about giving him a big contract. On the other hand, he's 26, hasn't posted an ERA above 3.41 in 4 years as a starter, and he struck out 200 guys the last 2 years. The going rate for a decent pitcher is 4 years, $40 million, and he should be way above that. Someone will pay him, it just may not be the Cubs.
