Default Apples

Hi

Cooking for a dinner party of 6 tomorrow night. My friend Lisa is one of the guests - she LOVES apples. Vegetable and goats cheese entree, and then chicken in a cheese sauce. Can anyone suggest a cool apple dessert please? (Recipes!)

Pete

Make a homemade apple pie. A real one. Make a pie shell like normal or buy one. Boil water and cut up green apples, taking the skin off first.Cook for 10 mins. Drain, and mix in brown suger, cinnamon, and a little bit of applesauce to keep the mixture together. Pour it into the shell and cover with granola. Serve warm but put vanilla or caramel icing on top first. Trust me, it's to die for.

Better yet, before you put the mixture in the shell, make a criss-cross of caramel icing on the pie shell bottom. Then after the mixture and granola, use vanilla icing. But the key is have it warm. Not reheated, but warm and fresh. You need to make it alongside dinner.
