Quick question about realtors... (first time home buyer)

Say I have an agent looking for properties for me (buyer's agent). Now say I find a property (on my own -- if that even matters) that I am interested in and it happens to be listed by an agent (seller's agent) who works for the same company.

Should I find another agent to represent me if I decide to pursue this property?


Bonus -- could someone possibly point me in the direction of some information that would help me decide between an older standalone house or a newer (nicer) townhouse?
