Re: Sleeping in the Rio parking lot in my car?
Why would you sleep in a parking lot, if you had the choice?
I once did a Vegas overnight crash. I just drove off into the suburban part of Vegas, cruised a couple blocks until I found a vacant lot that was pending construction, pulled my car in and slept in a sleeping bag under the stars. Vacant lots don't have security guards, you can spread out if you want, and even if the neighbors notice you'll be out of there early in the morning anyways. If you do this in the summer months, it'll probably be over 85 even at night, and you won't get a very good night's sleep. |

Re: Sleeping in the Rio parking lot in my car?
I've done this a couple times in Atlantic City, at the Taj or Borg garages. Since it's covered, you don't have the sun bearing down on you in the morning, so that's a plus. But it does get hot in AC, even in the overnight hours. I can't imagine in LV. I got a 4 hour nap in, then I couldn't take it anymore.
If you're there for more than a day, get a cheap room. |

You might want to watch Bumfights2 or Bumfights3. Its the one were the guy is breaking into all the cars at the Rio. Scary stuff. If you want to sleep in your car at least drive to the Bellagio.

Re: Sleeping in the Rio parking lot in my car?
why not book a hotel at some cheap ass place like to start like 5 days after you plan on getting there and if it works out just cancel your ccard so you don't get charged a deposit for cancelling the reservation.

Re: Sleeping in the Rio parking lot in my car?
I didn't know sleeping in a car was such a horrible thing! I planned on doing this when I moved out on my own to another state. I planned on buying a mini van (around 2k+) and an airbed (airbed costs $20), plus tilted windows ($75) and putting all that rent money I wouldn't pay in my pocket! I would then proceed to getting a ymca membership to take my showers and eat at taco bell everyday.
But now that I read all you people's comments I feel bad |

Drive up to the foothills at least, I assume it would be MUCH cooler.

You should definitely do this.
I'm almost positive it is totally safe. |

I live in Vegas. I went to the bank tonight and it was about 715PM and the temperature was 97. Don't do it!

[ QUOTE ]
I have recently gotten in touch with my inner Jew and am looking at places I can cut costs for my WSOP trip. I was wondering if it is even possible to pull this off or will they have security guards roaming and waking me up? [/ QUOTE ] damn,if you are serious about this, i'm willing to let you share my room for a small price. can anyone vouch for this guy and make sure that he won't rob me/ sleep rape me? |

Re: Sleeping in the Rio parking lot in my car?
What about one of the extended stay places?
This one is a bit south of town, and the exterior is cheesy. But the suites look nice enough and it's around $300 a week. With a kitchenette, you can pick up some stuff at the grocery store and save on meals. http://www.manorsuites.com/ I'm cold natured, and freeze in the AC a lot of the time, but the thought of trying to sleep in a car in an LV parking garage in June makes me break into a sweat. |
