I asked for a copy of the Commerce rulebook but was blown off. (Don't remember the excuse.)

TT, didn't you once post a link to an online version of the commerce rulebook? Repost?

I don't know how many times i've seen a dealer insist that they knew a rule only to have a floorperson called and be overturned.

[/ QUOTE ]

In almost every case of this that I have witnessed, the dealer was right and the floor was wrong.

Commerce rule book is based on Roberts Rules of Poker, written by Bob Ciaffone. You can find his rule book here. Also Roy Cook has put out a rather good rule book which shows the many variations of rules around the nation, its published by ConJelCo.

With respect to hand #2, in NJ the rule is different in the two big rooms. At the Taj, seat 1 would show first; at the Borgata, seat #2 (the last aggressor on the turn) would show first.

[/ QUOTE ]

wtf is with people from new jersey being so [censored] desperate not to show their hand first? i saw this a bunch on the uspc and everyone just ended up looking like the biggest jackasses alive. Dont these people realize what giant pieces of [censored] they look like? is their pride smashed if they show their hand and then someone else shows a better one? That ozias guy who pushes calls an all in with AA, then asks how good his hand is, waits til the other guy tables qq and then ozias turns over AA should seriously be hanged from a tree. People like this are such abysmal human beings there is no real reason for them to exist.

It's also funny that you mention age as a determining factor of how well somebody knows the rules. In my experience young dealers know the rules better than some of the ones that have been around for a long time. There are exceptions to this of course.

[/ QUOTE ]

Please point out where above was implied.

reading comprehension at it's finest.

The funny thing is fully 75% of the time these colorful interactions are from under 30's youngsters with big bankrolls that think they know something about poker because they've played for 2-3 years.

A word to the wise. Young ego's are very easy to smash and be put on tilt, losing entire bankrolls. Learn to watch, listen, learn, and stfu. Chances are you'll be a far better player for it.

After 55 posts, what was solved? Bigfishead dosen't like tourists who question the Vegas rules? The Vegas rules that are clearly wrong, but as a casino employee he must enforce?

In what way is a check UTG, check on the button last action by UTG? This is just nonsensical. There is a lot of discussion about house rules and how players should know them or accept them, but nothing about how players should raise holy hell about a rule this stupid.

If I check/call a raise with top two on a draw board and the draw comes in, why do I have to show first on a checked river? Because the button doesn't have the balls to bluff his busted straight on a flushed board?

stay in NJ where they totally obliterated the essence of the rule. Since you fail to comprehend that "CHECK" is an ACTION. the first person that CHECKED, INITIATED THAT ACTION.

He whom initiated last action shows first.

back to reading comprehension class students.

No wonder I stayed away from this forum for so long.
