Don't make pussy bets on the flop.

Bet $1 if you are going to bet. I think betting and checking are both ok.

I don't raise the river without a read.

I actually would make a healthy raise for value. I don't think he has a higher straight or he would probably have bet the turn. For that reason, I would also call a push to your raise.

I would bet more on the flop, probably about 3/4 of the pot.

I would raise smallish to somewhere between $3.20 and $4. I think villain will feel pot committed and call you with sets, various 2 pair hands, and maybe even medium pps. The only hand that beats you is 78.

Yeah sure but 73 is MUCH less likely than any of the other hands I've listed, given that villain had to limp in PF. I concede that some players at these levels will limp with any two suited. But even if we assume villain will always limp with any two suited there are only 4 combos of 73s.

why don't we shove to push out another 3?

rarely are we losing, once in a while another 3 will fold, most of the time we pay some rake but get some call equity on our pushes with the nuts
