Mike Brown: "I thought everyone contributed tonight."

They "contributed" by getting the hell out of the way, except for those two possessions where Billy Hoyle tried to score.

lol. Stung by a bee. I never understood as a San Diego guy watching his sweet stroke, how this dude could work so hard at hitting, fielding, etc., and not pass on that extra plate of ribs.

I think a huge part of some of the Pistons not coming over, especially from the baseline, to help is the fear of Lebron dunking on their head. Those 2 dunks at the end of regulation nobody on the Pistons wanted any part of it. If I remember Tayshaun ducked completely out of the way.

Also, the fact that Lebron literally beat the Pistons by himself is almost laughable. Legendary performance.
I think this could be a defining moment for Lebron, and give him confidence in other end game situations. I never really was willing to say Lebron could be one of the greats, but after tonight count me in.

Lebron hit every single big shot at the end minus one.

Don't forget those two clanked free throws.

Listen, obviously I'm being a bit of contrarian here, it was a sick performance. But I think some of you are ignoring how awful the Pistons played, on both sides of the ball.

kyle,

they can't get it in writing, though. They'd get fined. I dunno.. maybe CLE's FO is that retarded (Larry Hughes as evidence). But why would they give him free agency when they KNEW they couldn't match any of the big offers he'd get. It just doesn't make sense.

Boozer [censored] them, plain and simple. If he wasn't willing to take that deal from the Cavs, the Cavs had no chance of keeping him, anyway. He was always going to get more money elsewhere.

[/ QUOTE ]

My point is that they could have easily been fined anyway for their verbal "agreement." It happened in the past with Juwan Howard, I believe.

So, essentially Cleveland's options at the time were:

1) Try to negotiate an unenforceable contract and let Boozer become a restricted free agent in hopes he signs for 6/40, KNOWING that other teams will come at him with offer sheets well over $40 million, or
2) Get one more year out of him for the league minimum guaranteed.

I shouldn't have blamed Cleveland for this - I'm not saying Cleveland should have done #2, but for Cleveland fans and the front office to bitch at him for taking a ridiculous pay raise with Utah (when teams are so willing to make false promises to players on a regular basis) is ridiculous.

Because he had absolutely no chance, because he never actually helped. 3 guys stood near the paint but no one closed on him. Once he takes off you just have to let him finish. But for chrisakes, how does Flip not tell his guys, "double him before he gets to the lane", or, "put his ass on the line. Make him earn them." It was a weak, weak performance on Detroit's part.

It is quite likely that the fact that I saw only the last ~min of regulation on in has influenced my opinion.
