Default 25NL - Flop top two with AJ, big raise = standard?

Just making sure this was standard play. Didn't really have any reads because I'd just started on this table.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

UTG ($13.35)
MP ($25)
CO ($9.85)
Hero ($24.90)
SB ($25.25)
BB ($32.65)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $1</font>, SB calls $0.90, BB calls $0.75.

Flop: ($3) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">BB bets $0.25</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $3</font>, SB folds, BB folds.

Final Pot: $6.25

Your not raising big. Your not even raising. Your betting. Ignore the mindonk.

Yeah. Kind of a drawy board, and you don't want the Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] to come out.

BB was just checking whether you really had an ace, and you confirmed his suspicion. (I hope you would have done this with 22 as well.) You weren't going to get another dime out of him.
