Re: Nut low in hi-lo regular?
[ QUOTE ]
I've never played it, but I'm sure it's A-5, same as in 8/b. Presumably the reason he rates 345 as the best starting hand is because it has 8 outs to improve to an open ended straight draw, whereas 234 only has 4 (Ted Forrest gives this reason for rating it as the best low starter in stud/8, in the new Full Tilt tournament book). [/ QUOTE ] Can anyone else confirm this? Rubbish, not meaning to offend, just looking for a 2nd opinion. I know somebody on this forum has played this variant before. Re: Nut low in hi-lo regular?
2-7 is the only low game where the best hand is not A2345. The hand rankings are completely normal in stud hilo regular. Think of the low in terms of razz. Think of the high in terms of any high game.

Re: Nut low in hi-lo regular?
lol, I actually had a disclaimer saying that I was referring to real games and not weird peter pan neverland games that have A-6 hand rankings but then I decided to delete that part since most people wouldn't know about london lowball or any weird a-6 omaha 8/stud 8 games.
Now that I said that I'm afraid someone will say that Badugi is not A-5 either since you get 4 cards so THAT DOESN'T COUNT EITHER YOU SLY DEVILS. |
